As the result of an ongoing investigation into a home invasion and murder on July 7th, Elko Law enforcement arrested a second man Tuesday on suspicion of Open Murder and related charges. Alan Honeyestewa, 24, is accused in the shooting death of Brad Smith, 33, during a home invasion burglary on Wrangler Circle in the Sundance subdivision. Honeyestewa was wounded in the alleged exchange of gunfire and flown to Salt Lake City. A sheriff’s investigation resulted in a warrant for Honeyestewa for two Felonies, Open Murder, and Burglary with a Deadly Weapon. Authorities are still looking for two others wanted for questioning, Taylor Robert Miller, 27, and Tyrell Mitchell Holley, 34. Homeowner Smith suffered numerous gunshot wounds and died after being taken to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital, according to Elko County Sheriff Jim Pitts.
