Riverton Home Town Hero Award Travis Mahlke

Riverton Elko GM Superstore and The Star Hotel are excited to present the Riverton Home Town Hero Award for the rest of the boys’ basketball season. During half time, Riverton Elko will recognize someone in the community for going above and beyond what is asked of them. Riverton will present a $100 check to a local non-profit origination of the recipient’s choice as well as a $100 gift card to The Star Hotel.

Saturday’s recipient is Travis Mahlke. Travis has been married to Michelle for over 12 years and they have 4 boys. He taught at Elko Grammar School, Spring Creek Elementary, and is now at Adobe Middle School. Travis is involved in a ton of youth activities- he has served on the Spring Creek Association and the Little League board and was also the President of Spring Creek Junior Football. He did that without any of his children being in the program. His passion is for coaching, as he has coached youth basketball, baseball, football, and golf for the past 19 years in Spring Creek. He also created and volunteers at tournaments for Ruby Mountain Junior Golf, a program for golfers in Northeastern Nevada. Travis still paints all the lines at the Spring Creek Elementary field for Junior Football, he will do anything for anybody and is truly a great guy! Travis has chosen for us to donate $100.00 to the Ruby Mountain Lions Club.

Thank you Travis for all that you do!
